Pathways Student Academic Services
No one pathway can serve all students—each discovers his or her passion for learning in different places and different ways. Whether students find their pathway to excellence in a classroom, a research lab, a residence hall, or the Memorial Union, such experiences have one crucial quality in common—each puts undergraduates at the heart of the university, at the center of learning. Coordinated by the College of Letters & Science and the L&S Office of Student Academic Affairs, Pathways Student Academic Services at UW-Madison (a part of the Center for Academic Excellence) provides residential learning communities and academic support services that promote an outstanding liberal arts education and find new ways for students to make a difference on campus.
Pathways Student Academic Services units are based on the values of engagement, empowerment, and community: engagement to learning and to the larger world; empowerment of undergraduates to play a central role in the educational mission of the university; and community building as a way to help students learn as much from each other as they do from the formal curriculum. In short, Pathways Student Academic Services provides undergraduates with the opportunity to have what they thought was impossible become possible, to discover their own capacity for excellence.
