UW–Madison educates thousands of the state’s citizens every year, but cannot accommodate all of the academically strong Wisconsin students who apply for admission. The Connections Program offers select Wisconsin residents the opportunity to start at a partner college or university and finish their bachelor’s degree at UW–Madison.
There are three options to join the UW–Madison Connections Program. Connections Apply Direct: Students who know they would like to begin at a partner campus and then transition to UW–Madison can apply directly to the program. Connections Opt-In: Students who apply and are admitted as freshmen can opt into the Connections Program. Connections Invitation: Select applicants for freshman admission are invited to participate in the Connections Program in lieu of direct freshman admission.
From the time students enroll in the Connections Program, they have a Wiscard, UW–Madison’s official student identification card. Connections students have full access to campus libraries, health services, recreational facilities, academic advising, student organizations, Badger athletic events, and technology tools such as e-mail, calendaring, My WebSpace, software training, and hardware/software discounts.
