School of Education
The School of Education recently received approval from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction to offer a new licensing program in Latin Education. This new program will be offered after final approvals are completed in the School of Education, possibly as early as fall 2012.
Latin Education is part of the World Language Education (WLE) program, and students will complete liberal studies course work, major courses, and the WLE professional education sequence. Students will be admitted once a year and follow the WLE application guidelines. Among other requirements, Latin Education applicants must pass a proficiency exam as part of the application process. The application period for fall 2012 program admission is October 1, 2011–February 1, 2012.
Students interested in Latin Education should consult with advising staff at Education Academic Services (EAS), Room 139 Education Building, 1000 Bascom Mall, 608-262-1651 regarding program requirements and how to apply to Latin Education. Updates will also be posted on the EAS website.
