Certificate Requirements, 22 credits
To quality for the Certificate in Introductory Studies in Dance/Movement
Therapy, a student must take two semesters of Dance courses—Practice and apply
for admission to the certificate program at the end of the second semester of the
second dance/movement therapy courses (232).
- Dance Courses—Practice
- Either 011 and 012 Modern Dance or 111 Modern Dance Technique I, 4
cr
- Credits from two other dance forms such as Ballet, Jazz, Modern
Dance Technique or World Dance forms with no more than two courses in one
form, 2-3 cr
- 151 Movement as Material through Improvisation, 2 cr
- 161 Somatic Theory and Practices, 2 cr
- 167 Introduction to Movement Analysis, 2 cr
- 231 Introduction to Dance/Movement Therapy, 2 cr
- 232 Introduction to Dynamics of Dance Therapy, 2 cr
