Professional Education Requirements: Hebrew and Semitic Studies Education

Development, 3 credit minimum: Ed Psych 331 Human Development from Childhood through Adolescence, 3 OR both Ed Psych 320 Human Development in Infancy and Childhood, 3 AND Ed Psych 321 Human Development in Adolescence, 3

Learning, 3 credit minimum: Ed Psych 301 Human Abilities and Learning, 3

Foundations of the Profession, 3 credit minimum; select one:

Special Education, 3 credits: Curric 506 Strategies for Inclusive Schooling.

Literacy, including Reading, 5-6 credits:
Curric 305 Integrating the Teaching of Reading with Other Language Arts, 3 cr, and Curric 348 Teaching of Hebrew, 2 cr (305 also fulfills Communication B of the campuswide General Education requirements.)

Educational Computing, select one:

Methods: Curric 348 Teaching of Hebrew*, 2

Student Teaching: Curric 448 Student Teaching in Hebrew*, 2-8

*This program prepares students to teach Hebrew at the Early Childhood through Adolescence levels (approximately grades pre-kindergarten through high school). Methods and Student Teaching must include experiences at both the elementary and secondary levels, possibly requiring additional course work than what is listed above.

Additional State Licensing Requirements

Additional Wisconsin State certification and licensing requirements include Minority Group Relations and Conflict Resolution.
