Considering Majors

Some campuses in the UW System offer specialized majors that are unique to that school. If you are interested in packaging, for example, UW-Stout is the only college that offers a course of study leading to a major in packaging. If you are interested in obtaining a general liberal arts background, however, your choice is open. UW-Madison offers the widest variety of majors, both in liberal arts and professional specialties.

Finding your educational direction
How do I begin to think about a major course of study? How can identifying my strengths help me decide on a possible major? There are many ways to assess your interests in relation to choosing a major:


Undergraduate Majors
UW-Madison offers a wide variety of undergraduate majors. Look over the possibilities to see what interests you. Remember that at this point you can always change your mind. Also note that majors have specific requirements in addition to the University's General Education Requirements.
