Undecided Students
Students who are undecided about their major
are advised at SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration)
to take first year courses fulfilling college requirements for most majors
in your general interest area. Advisers in the schools and colleges assist
many undecided students, and the Cross-College Advising Service expressly
serves the students still deciding.
Career Paths:
Keep in mind that you do not have to choose a specific academic focus
in order to reach a desired career path. Multiple paths lead to the same
job. Two people could pursue different majors in different schools and
still attain the same job position after school. The examples below move
from left to right beginning with your general interest and then leading
to several possibilities for academic study. Each major ends with the
same job. Please note that these are only examples; every major leads
to a multitude of career paths.
